Der UCI DH Worldcup 2019 in Andorra war wieder einmal sensationell. Steil, staubig und spannend. Vor allem bei den Damen im Rennzirkus ging es ordentlich zu Sache und es kam anders als gedacht. Mit einer unfassbaren coolness, wie immer fokussiert und routiniert, holte sich Rachel Atherton verdient den ersten Platz beim UCI DH Worldcup in Andorra vor Marine Cabirou und Tracey Hannah. Mit diesem Sieg geht die 33-jährige Weltmeisterin auf die 40 zu, denn dieser Weltcupsieg war ihr 39.

Loic Bruni entschied bei den Herren das Rennen für sich, dicht gefolgt von Loris Vergier und Troy Brosnan.

Bei den Mädls holte sich Vali Höll vor Anna Newkirk und Mille Johnset den ersten Platz. Wir freuen uns schon, wenn sie nächstes Jahr bei den Damen mitmischt. Wir sind uns sicher Little Miss Downhill wird der Elite ordentlich einheizen.

Unsere Deutsche Nina Hoffmann fuhr mit einer Socke als Neunte ins Ziel, nachdem sie nach einem Sturz aus ihrem Schuh gerutscht war. Schade, denn nach ihren mega Quali-Run am Vortag drückten ihr alle die Daumen zum ersten Mal Platz 1 abzustauben. Mit dieser Geschichte macht sie jedenfalls den kettenlosen Gwinner ordentlich Konkurrenz. Beim nächsten Mal muss sie nur noch gewinnen 😉

Oh my lord, what a crazy racerun yesterday 🙈 Last girl down the hill, super motivated, first part of my run nearly perfect, then the struggle began 😂 Two close calls in the lower sections and then this crash. I think my front wheel got caught by the deep dust and sent me right into it. As I went up to catch up my bike I realised that I lost my shoe, which was still clippin in the pedal. So what to do…? Hop on the bike and go for the rest of the track of course 🤷🏼‍♀️🔥 I didn't even think about stopping. So I rode down the last part of the track on my sock and what I can tell you: the grip isn't too bad 😂😂😂 In the end I still finished in 9th position. The result is not satisfying but the fun in the finish area was amazing. 👌🏼 I've learnt a lot again from this weekend and will carry it into the next one – off to World Cup #5 in Les Gets! Then hopefully with both shoes on my feet and a better result 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks @the_hills_are_alive for this awesome shot 😂

Dieser Run ist jedenfalls jetzt schon legendär und macht sie, zur wohl coolsten Socke im Rennstall. Auf Platz 10 landete als zweite Deutsche am Start Sandra Rübesam.
