Video: Rob Warner fährt ab jetzt für Commencal Bikes

'Look at the bike!'

Für die jenigen von euch, die neu im Bikesport sind, hört sich das vielleicht nicht besonders an. Aber jeden, der schon seit den frühen Stunden dabei ist, wird diese Nachricht sicher ziemlich überraschen.

Der World Cup Kommentator und Ex-Downhill Rennfahrer Rob Warner war schon IMMER für Giant Bikes unterwegs. Doch heute erreicht uns die Nachricht, dass er ab jetzt ein Markenbotschafter für Commencal ist. Die guten Beobachter unter euch haben vielleicht bemerkt, dass er während der Streckenvorschau der Weltmeisterschaft in Val di Sole bereits auf einem Commencal-Bike unterwegs war. Jetzt ist die Katze jedenfalls endlich aus dem Sack und das hatten Commencal dazu zu sagen:

Da Warner auf jeden Fall eine schilldernde Persönlichkeit und eine Berühmtheit in unserer Szene ist, war es eine kluge Entscheidung von Commencal, ihn an Bord zu holen. Und wenn dieses Video ein Vorgeschmack auf das ist, was uns kommendes Jahr erwartet, dann wird es sicher noch einiges zu Schmunzeln geben!

Robs Kommentar zu seinem Wechsel:

“You know I’ve known Max (Commencal) a long, long time, I met him first at Metabief Worlds in 1993. I always liked him, he’s a laugh. So I got talking to him this year at a race about UK trail centres and how much I love them (they’re fairly new to me). BikePark Wales actually is the one that blew my mind on an Enduro bike and this idea started to take shape. It was going to be a ‘guest star’ type of thing but I loved the bike, like really, no BS. It’s only a 130/140 in the vid but it worked so well, so progressive and we went on from there… I tested the DH bike too and loved it.“

„I think the big thing riding for Commencal now is that they want to do stuff with me, team camps, shoots, vids etc. And I have a lot of experience developing bikes from all the stuff I did with Giant. So I’m really excited for that, it’ll keep me riding and involved, and with what my real job is I need that, plus I want it, I miss riding. I’m really looking forward to working with the French. The brand is sick, bikes are rude, Max is a self confessed alcoholic so yeah, it’s perfect. Gonna be a good thing.”
